Water Clarity: 0 I have been fishing Becks pond in Bear,De. all Winter. With the exception of thin ice for about 10 days, the Winter fishing gas been excllent! Gin clear water & plenty of Bass,Crappie & even Yellow Perch.
Bank fishing Becks Pond, we used a new shad dart called Provokem darts. It has a bleeding hook & glows in the dark. We tried jigs, crankbaits & even live bait, but kept going back to the Provokem dart. It caught everything!
We started with a nice pattern of Crappie schooled on the points. Then when the winds picked up, we used a 1/8oz. & 1/4oz. Provokem shad dart along the drop-offs & caught Nine Bass & 12 huge Yellow Perch! The Bass were around 13-15 inches.... not bad for February fishing! We found the Provokem jigs at Captain Bones. I also found them online at www.provokem.com I change my lures often when fishing, but never had such good luck with different presentations from one fishing jig. The best part of the day was all the different fish we caught.... they worked on everything!
