Water Clarity: 0 I returned home Sunday March 26th. The wind, drizzle and cooler tempatures made it tough on the fishermen but the fish bit well. I caught an 11.1 pounder on a Bagley DB3M (09 color) on the east side of the Lake south of the dam. I think the crankbait bite is just starting. We did not catch many on a crankbait but thery were better quality. There was an 10.9 caught on a watermelon lizard at the mouth of the Pilon River. We caught many "buck" bass on lizards and spinnerbaits in 6 - 8 feet of water. The better fish were on main lake rock points but the high winds made it tough to stay out there. Several 4's, 5's, 6's and 7's were caught by our group. Not as many as we would have liked but it kept it interesting. A group in a motor home caught several 7's while we were there. All of the larger females had not spawned and had row. I think April will be a great month. We were fishing out of Hacienda Santa Fe and the food and service were great! Hacienda Santa Fe is located on the Purafication River. Turn left off of Hwy 101 at the 35 kilometer marker (south of Nevueo Padilla) and go about 400 to 500 yards past the 11 kilometer marker, there on the left you should see a white concrete wall with Hacienda Santa Fe and Carta Blanca painted on it with an orange gate, turn in. The drive in is 2 miles to the lodge. There has been some talk about a 18 pound fish caught on the Lake and I can't get to the source for any info or pic's.
