Water Clarity: 0 Fished a small club tournament on Saturday. Started on some humps just outside of Mink Creek and caught two 4 pounders early swimming a 10" worm in scattered grass. My partner caught 3 keepers quick on a 3/8 oz blade. Left Mink around 6:40 and went out on the river before the wind got too bad. Caught 1 more 4 pounder and my partner caught his 4th keeper on 3/4 oz blades. I caught several more smaller keepers and then we left around 8:00. Went and fished the humps out in front of Goosepond and I culled both my 2 smaller keepers on the big spinnerbait. My partner never could catch his 5th keeper. It was pretty tough the rest of the day trying to fight the wind. I ended up with a little over 17 pounds and my partner had around 8 or so. We took first with our combined weight.
We just had to hit as many humps as possible and never really had 1 place that was great. The better humps were the ones where bait would follow your spinnerbait in everytime you reeled it in. If there was no bait, we didn't catch any fish. The main bait all day was the blade and the 10" worm.
Lots of wind and lots of boats, but still a fun time on the water.
