Hello to all,

Ever really found the fish? I know we all have found some large ones, maybe even several biggin's! I'm sure some have had better numbers and weight. The following story sums up a good to great day. Started off with great dreams of fish, went down hill quick, but then turned out to be one fine day.

Here's the story:

Launched out of South Bay on Champlain, Sunday morning, beautiful day ahead. Went North, really can't go too far south. Water is up about 2-3 feet, my best guess. Muddy conditions. Water temp around 64-65 degrees, no wind, not too much boat traffic.

First three to four hours only produced 2 keepers. Of course I'm thinking what is going on, best time of the year, the right conditions, changing up lures, should be producing something.

About 11:30 we found them, not every cast, but very active, maybe protective, who knows, best guess was alittle of both. We saw fry everywhere, about 1-2" long. Did'nt keep track, guess was 30-35 fish, from 1.5 to 4lbs. Best 6 would of put us at 21-22 lbs. May not of won the tournament but put us top ten.

We fished from 6 inches to 10 feet, slow retrieve, many colors. A little hint, slow or even slower if you can.
