Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Hi fellow bassers, went to 3 mile with a bassn' man from Ark., Warren. It was raining all the way down but hardly any wind which meant it would be a good day to fish the points for post spawn largemouths, or would it.... We launched and started to fish a point and the water temp was reading 74 to start but dropped to 72 going into a spawning cove which meant the largemouths might still be spawning. The water had already turned a shade of green and the visibility was down and the vegetation was high in the cove so sight fishing was almost out of the question but we went in and parked in the middle of the reeds and flipped senkos into any holes we spotted. It wasn't long before we were catching the buck bass around 2-2.8 pounds. We caught several in this one area and made our way out to a high spot just outside the cove looking for some spawned out females. Now, when we pulled into the boat launch area this morning, there were 7 other rigs already there. That has been the most I 've seen this spring short of a tournament. Also I'd like to mention we fished 3 mile yesterday on Saturday not today. So we fished around this high spot for about an hour or so and caught several small Bass there as well but Warren landed a nice looking 4 pounder off of the side of this spot. The colors on the fish were very bright. The white under belly was a bright shade of white and the green and black was also nicely highlighted. We moved to another spawning cove and caught a few fish but the wind had picked up and the rain had stopped as another front was passing by making it harder to keep the boat in position. We fished our way out and to a long main lake point and caught several more fish off and around that with a couple of small smallies thrown in. I had switched to a spinnerbait and was throwing shallow to deep when my bait just stopped dead. I set the hook and brought in a nice largemouth the same size as Warren's, a 4 pounder with the same kind of colors. We ended on this spot with a total of 34 for the day. We split the number and both caught a 4 pounder, can't complain about that. It was something today because for me it was the first time I had the pleasure to fish for spawning, post spawn and bass that had moved to their summer pattern all in the same day. Looks like this is shaping up to be a HOT summer of fishing around here. Take care friends and I'm going to try and post a couple of picture from 3 mile, DAVID
