Went out on Whatcom in the early evening. Fish were still on beds. I personally don't like fishing beds, so I tried some areas with some overhanging branches in the north basin. I caught a nice 2 lb smallie, but when I got her up close, I saw I had foul hooked her in the eye. The eye looked like it had been previously damaged. I released that one, pitched to a nearby dock, and gullet-hooked another nice fish. I didn't mess with the hook, pulled out the Senko and cut the line. I felt so bad about my escapade I left early and haven't returned.
