Water Clarity: 6 inches Hot hot hot..the temp, not the fishing! Fished club tourney out of here on 7/22/06...duckweed everywhere, from shore to shore in old river. Kind of scary running through there like that, and it's full of crab traps. Started the day in zig zag and had a 13" on a buzzbait. Hit reed and had a 12" on a worm..made it down to big pigeon and caught a 6ft long, silver tarpon-looking gar fish. Finished the day in Postillion and caught a 2lb goo. Winning stringer for 2 people (10 fish allowed) was 3 fish for 5.95. 3 or 4 people zeroed. Water levels are low, and as far as cover to throw at, most seems to be in only 2 ft of water. I'm sure the fish are out there somewhere, but I don't know the spillway enough to find the deeper water w/cover. Water was moving in the main bayous, but fish were not cooperating.
