Spent 4 days fishing sept.8-11 and did a little of everything. early morning, evening and night with the blacklight. was fishing Drowning creek and duck along with some mainlake points when the stupid yatch's didn't wake me out.( I hate them big-ass things)anyway never threw much other than a watermelon or pumpkinseed baby brushhog and boated at least 20 to 30 fish a day with about 5-10 keepers out of those. When they started dropping the water,I moved out from behind the docks to the side and front, keying on any structer I could find in about 10-20 ft of water.I found the larger fish out a ways and the dinks chasing bate on the banks. But the key was getting your bate deep into the stuff and working it slow or letting it sit in the stuff while shaking the bate.Sometimes I didn't even feel a bite.Just felt wieght that shouldn't be there and sure enough I'de have a fish on..I had a couple swallow it and never felt a thing. You all know how sensitive a Falcon is. But in all I did very well. I plan on going today (sunday.sept 24) and see if they are still on the hog. If not I had a few fish on a trick worm and will probably downsize to a finess worm on a shakey head. The lake has been a steady 741 for about 3 weeks now so the fish should be feeding well shallow and deep I hope. I'll follow the shad. Don't shy away from the backs of some creeks right now..That's were the food is going to be for a while until they move out after the water temp gets cold. unfortunately I had a cabin in the back of Drowning creek and had about 2 ft of water to go thru to get to my slip.Coming in there at night with a spotlight there were billions of shad in there.Had some jumping into the boat. So don't think they will be deep for long.there was plenty of food back there. Anyways good fishing all and thanks Bassaholic for your posts. It's nice to see someone doing good on bates I don't normally throw. I am a pretty basic guy and stick to my few bates that catch fish for me on a regualar basis.Hog,spinner bate, sinko, jig, tube ect.
