Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Fall smallie bite is on boys!!! Get out there. Fished for 2 days had 16 fish, I think it was 3 LM , 12 SM , 1 decent pike. Missed a ton of fish too and some came off at the boat. Nothing to brag about by anymeans but the bite will only get better in the upcoming weeks. Wanted to stay a couple more days but weather took a turn for the worse. Wed morning. (10/11) drove down to oneida shores ramp to only see whitecaps rolling in to the ramp. No way for me to get out, and I knew the wind was going to blow hard all day long, and I know the weather is not good for thur either. So I headed back to philly. Man I love NY !!! I get to get back up in the next couple of weeks.
Dawn and dusk topwater bite is very very good, as well as in the afernoon. Sammy topwater was getting slammed. Water temps around 56. Most fish came on topwater in depths from 4-12', some on spinnerbaits and senko's. Didn't find any fish on shoals, or up any creeks? All my fish came in weeds.
