Water Clarity: 0 I've been fishing the river a few times in the past couple of weeks and had a blast! The first time I went out I used a small cb and caught a ton of lm up to 3 1/2 pounds. The next time I went out I started throwing the same cb and my first fish was a 6 lb 11 ounce hog. This was the the biggest fish of the year for me and I fish more than once a week so I was excited. I weighed it on 2 different scales just to be sure and they both read the same. The sad part is I forgot the camera, so I took a good look and then watched her swim away. Another sad part is I only managed about 5 other bass, but loaded up on the crappie with the biggest being 1 lb 6 oz. I took some friends out on my last trip to the river and just went after crappie. We used small slider worms rigged with a head weight and a 5 foot leader with a float. I know it sounds cheezy using a bobber, but when slowly dragged can be very effective for fall crappie because they suspend over grass and isolated structure. This technique landed us 50 crappie in 2 hours. These people dont fish much so it definatly got them hooked. This may be my last report because I'm into hunting mode, but we'll see.
