Steve P was kind enough to take this boatless piece of bank trash out fishing

last Sunday. The weather sucked, but Steve was in rare form. He had me laughing

my tail off all day making fun of mudfish.

Anyway, the fishing was slow I only caught about 12 fish or so with the best

five about 12 to 12 1/2 pounds. I didn't keep track of Steve's catches or

Mudfish's for that matter, but Muddy did catch one right at four pounds, maybe a

tad bigger. I had two that were close, but I'll concede that he earned big bass

rights for the day.

I caught all of my fish on senko-type baits. Steve and mudfish used those as well as Long-As, sweet beavers, pop-rs and even a crankbait I think. The flipping bite just wasn't there although I had a really good pull under a mat, but I goofed up and didn't get a hook in it.

Oh well, I had an awesome time despite crappy conditions and a lite bite.

I'll have to get those boys up here to the Potomac and show them some numbers ... not size -- lol!
