Water Clarity: 0 Are you having problems with your reels working smoothly? Do they need a good cleaning? When you oil your reels at the Star Drag and the Spool this is just lubricating the spool shaft and main gear shaft. Reels need to be taken apart and the old grease removed from the main gear, pinion gear and worm gear and re-lubed. The bearings need to be taken out and the dirt and grit cleaned from them and oiled. The drag washers also need to be wiped cleaned and lightly greased, as required, so your drag works smooth.I take the reels completely down and inspect,clean,and lube and re-assemble for a very reasonable price per reel.This includes the main gear, pinion gear and the bearings. If you handle does not turn smooth or your spool does not spin as free as it used to, then a good cleaning and lube could help.
