Date Fished: 3/26/2007 Its that time of year when the fish are finally coming up to where you can get at them with ease. I had several fish within minutes of reaching my favorite stretch of bank. Fished about 2 hours and had three that would be good keepers, and lost one big monster on a swimbait i was playing with once the wind started blowing. I also lost a bigger fish in the 5lb range on my second cast of the day thanks to an old hook that i was too lazy to cut off before i started fishing that and it didnt help that i was on the cell phone to folks at work so: Bad hook + Poor hookset= fish lost halfway to the boat and a sad but excited me... If you can get out the wind and fish slow with some patience you can catch several in a short stretch, I think they bit a while longer today with all the cloud cover too. Saw Jen Carroll and another WBT girl practicing, they were fishing faster baits and were not catching keeper sized fish. Right Now you still gotta slow it down and let them come eat it. All the little things make a difference. Color, Red hooks, fishing slow, Kick N Bass Garlic, Spiking the tails, etc, etc.
