Water Clarity: 2-3 feet my nephew got out of school early today so i took him out to let him have a little fun today. when we first got there the water was extremely low. made a run down to the mouth of beef creek to see if we could run up with some spawners... no luck. the water around 64 degrees, looked like coffee, and was at a virtual stand still. fished it for about an hour with t-rigs, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits from as deep as 12ft to as shallow as 1ft. so we moved farther down the river to find clearer water. we found some water that was pretty clear around small bay, water temp 67-69. for the first hour the fishing remained slow...that was until the wind switched directions and the water started to come back in. over the next 2 hours we put 14 fish in the boat with 8 keepers...9 on spinnerbaits, 3 on a baby -1, and 2 on a brushhog. nothing big, best 5 only going around 10lbs. im not sure if the fish were just following the rising water to feed or wether it was the males moving up to start fanning beds. only 2 of the fish we caught had eggs and none of the bass had any evidence of making beds(bloody tale ect...). unfortunately, i still have not found a topwater bite to speak of...sure cant wait til the pads rise the the buzzbaits explode!
