Date Fished: 4/8/2007
Water Temperature: 58
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Got to lake at about 11:30 am fished right around boat ramp till about 1 and it was anywhere from 56-59 degrees and only caught three fish one being about 19 inches long on peanut butter and jelly eakins finesse jig with pb&j paca chunk trailer. Went all the way east to the hot water ditch and the water was 75-77 degrees. Fished with spinnerbaits and jigs and finesse worms for about an hour and was wondering if we were gonna do any better and was JUST about ready to head back out towards main lake and fish the deep brushy banks on south side, till we came up to this little cove prolly only 200 yds long and about 3-4 boat lengths wide but some laydowns and a beaver damn around 12 foot deep and bass just all of a sudden went crazy on shad. We stayed in that one little bitty cove for about 2-3 hours and caught them left and right on topwater, flukes, a weightless white mizmo tube the only thing we tried they wouldn't hit was a buzz bait and only one fish on baby 1-minus but they hit anything u threw out was getting hits every cast it was a blast. Kinda got quiet in that cove so went back out and headed down main ditch and started catching them the same way again. These bass were feeding so hard there were bass chasing to the boat trying to steal the bait out of the fishes mouth we had hooked and actually caught two fish on one cast 4 or 5 times. All together I'd say me and dad caught close to 100 fish. While some of the fish were small, we did catch a lot of nicer fish up to 20 inches long never weighed any but will say majority of fish were around 14-17 inches but hey it was still fun and that's why we were there.
