Went back to the G.S. State Forest to hit Green Lake again, this time to check out the evening bite.

Got on the water around 05:30pm and immediately began picking up fish on the Fat Free Shad, in citrus shad color. On the main lake they were hitting it about 10ft off the bank. Caught a bass on almost every other cast for a while.

Moved back in the south end shallows and the bass and bluegill were stacked up in this part of the lake. Fish were everywhere. Huge schools of nice bluegill would spook when they seen the lure in the air, and the bass were pretty jumpy too. They were really aggressive hitting the Zoom Tab Tail grub when texas rigged with a 1/16oz weight. Caught over a dozen back in there, then came the chance a a big one.

I was paddling to the end of the lake on the south side, when thanks to me Solar Bat prescription glassed I seen her. Suspended before me 20ft from the boat like a bucketmouth fortress was BassDiesel, the largest bass on the North American Continent. I had a 4" Yum Dinger on a rod, and I thought I could throw that past her without spooking and try and get a strike. No deal, when the bait was in the air, the bassdozer saw it and spooked out big time. Gone in an instant.

Still was an awesome day, unbelievable how active all the fish are getting into the shallows. They are really craving the sunshine and are real easy to spook. It takes long casts to catch them when they are on the bank in clear water like that.

Went to North Lake today (Sunday) and it was the same. Caught a ton of small bass, and seen hundreds of nice bluegill out sunning. Caught several nice gills on crankbaits and rattletraps. Bluegills are very aggressive on this lake. Wind was really pesky today after 12 noon.

Looks like by the end of the week, 15F off of todays high. Might be better fishing though if we get cloud cover.
