Date Fished: 4/21/2007 First off....thank you to everyone who gave me some info on the Q. It was very helpful in the days events. We left Dedham bright and early...and were at the gate at 5 when it opened... We fished the coves right out of the gate on the right shore.... and within 20 minutes or so caught my first laker ever. Nice fish, about 22" and 6lbs. We had no luck fishing the rock walls, however. we fished jigs, cranks, spinnerbaits....with no luck there. Our rental sadly broke down over near the dike after taking a potty break.....so we rowed quite a bit until someone gave us a tow.... once we got our new boat fished the left shore...not far from the gate...as rowing sucks. ha. The left coves proved to be a little more action packed..... buddy caught a 13" rainbow, and on the next cast i caught a yellow perch about the same size.... huge compared to the perch i've seen. a little further north, landed the 2nd laker of the day... this one was 8lbs 2oz and was just over 27".....what a fight. We easily hooked a dozen fish between us all, however, bad hook sets and carelessness won and we lost them..... Again, thank you to everyone who sent some info...i know this report was wordy....but what a great first time there! Thank again!
