It's time to get back to the reports. I got out about 6:15 this morning and fished for a little over an hour. I decided to try some areas that I don't normally fish and did fairly well.

I still had a few fish that didn't want to commit to my baits but I was able to catch some schoolers and caught some on blind casts. Regardless, it was a major improvement from last Saturday anyway.

I'd say 5:30 until about 7:00 a.m. is the prime time to catch the bulk of your fish in the mornings right now although on my way in I did see fish busting here and there. I did see a lot more activity this morning than from this past weekend.

For the morning I had 3 overs and a couple of "quick release" overs. I had a few slot fish in there as well along with a small stripe. My best 2 fish are in the pic and I'm guessing my best spot was over 4 lbs.

I was talking with A-Train or jigkid Ad (whatever name he's going by now) earlier this morning trying to figure out what causes these fish to turn off and turn on like they do. We both have the opinion that fishing during the week is much more productive. I just know if it is due to boat traffic, different stages of post spawn, or what. One thing AD mentioned is that it could have something to do with the generation schedule for Smith. I've never paid much attention to it, since you normally can't tell when they are pulling water, but that probably has something to do with it.
