Date Fished: 5/10/2007 Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Fished Rayburn on the north end Thursday, friday and Saturday with one of my sons. Found bass early and late on points at the start of small coves in the major creeks south of 146 bridge. Before dark and just after the sun peeked over the horizon, bass were hitting topwaters. Our best baits were a White Storm Baby Thunderstick and a Storm Gold and Black Chug Bug. The big fish came on the chug bug. Fished moved out just a bit after early morning, but would still hit a Zoom Watermelon Red 8" lizzard Texas Rig, fished slow. We also found a mess of crappie during the day in about 20ft of water around structure. Moved to the South end of the lake Sunday. Started out about 4:30AM on a main lake point between Veach and Five Fingers. Using the same topwaters, we found ourselves in the middle of a largemouth and hybrid striper feeding frenzy. They had baitfish pushed up within 40 yards of the bank all the way up to the grass. Boated 6 over 7lbs, with many under that weight and too many largemouth to keep count of. This went on until about 6:30 or 7:00 AM. The largemouth then moved out maybe 40 yards and could be caught on the Texas Rigged lizzards or carolina rigged tiki sticks in lime and black. No particular point matterd I guess, because we saw boats on adjacent points about 6:00Am with same action. If it sounded like we had a few good days of fishing.........you can believe that we did.
