Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Fished out of Hickory Saturday morning...first time this year. Fished from 0630a-0200p Got into a school of largemouths chasing shad off a point near the ramp. Buddy and I caught around 10 with 3 keepers within about 20 minutes. By 07:00am they were done. Nothing on the other points so I assume it was just a right place right time kinda thing. We backed off to the the first drop and fished the ledge all the way to the marina and couldn't find them. Proceeded to run way down river and it was like the dead sea. Ran back up to Monte Ne and caught a keeper LM off a dock near a channel swing and then caught a keeper spot off the cut. Not pleased with our results...staying north of 12 bridge the rest of the year. Planning on fishing Rocky to Lost Springs on Monday.
