Date Fished: 6/9/2007 Launched from Tar Camp park. Saw 78 degrees at launch. Main river channel is clearing, albeit slowly - about 6" of viz. Clarity is better in the back water areas - 1-2' (better around the willow grass). Water warmed to 83 by midday. Found fish holding tight to wood and rocks w/ senkos and jigs (dark colors). Had a good jig bite on main river channel rip rap even w/ the strong current. Fish were hitting it as it fell. No big ones, but the short fish (spots) were definitely in the feeding mode. Did have a couple short fish on crankbaits (shad and bluegill patterns). Did not have any topwater bites but heard others caught fish on white buzzers (had to have a clacker). Main river was clear of debris from what I saw. Flow did slow quite a bit by mid morning, but water was still moving at a pretty good clip. I could tell that the recent flow has deposited sediment at the entrances to the backwater areas - I saw 4-5' today where I saw 6-7' earlier in the spring. Recommend taking it easy if you haven't been on the river in a while. Tight lines. ATW, B
