With the lake on the rise, the bass fishing has been slow this past week. I have been catching a few fish out of brush piles in 25-35ft. of water with a brown and purple football jig. They just haven't made the transition yet. Most of the fish seem to be scattered out on the main lake flats and points. I have been catching a few first thing in the morning on a topwater. After the sun gets out, I have been targeting fish on the flats with a drop shot. Most are holding in 20-25ft. of water. When you catch one, several more appear on the fish finder. They seem to be just roaming the flats following schools of shad around.
