Took the 25hp Sea Nymph out to Geist with a buddy and fished a night tournement Sat. 12-9am, with big boys and their high powered high tech bass boats. Nice night did'nt get a bite till late 2 pounder on a jointed jitter bug, my buddy lost 2 at the boat both over 3lbs on a jig. I Made a long cast down a weed line with the bug and omg the whole lake shook my buddy ducked I went to set the hook and he must have missed the bug but what ever it was, had to be huge because I have never seen a hit that violent before and I am talking any type of fishing.

Sun started to come up so we fired up the 25hp and headed up lake and fished a point with alot of feeding fish. We both went to the jig caught at lest 5 short fish a piece. I am up at the front and hear my buddy say "There He Is" I look back and his pole is bent over like it's going to brake in half and he has this big smile on his face. The fish went down and stayed down like a cat fish, it came up and it was so big we thought, it's a damn cat and then it came all the way out of the water and we knew it was a monster bass. He fought it for a bit longer and when we got it in the net we knew we had a chance to win big fish and maybe the tourney. We had 3 hours left to fish so we knew we had some work to do we only picked up one more 2 pounder and had to head in early to make sure we gave the 25hp time to get us there.

When we walked up to weigh in there was already a 5.19 and a 5.17 pounders on the board man it was a nice feeling pulling that hog out of the bag and hearing all the guys. It went 5.97 and we took home big fish we weighed in 3 fish 10lbs, first was 13.74lbs. So we really needed those last 2 fish one more would have put us in the money, but we were happy with the $225 for big fish.

All I can say is if you have a small boat you can still keep up with the big boys at night and lakes like Summit where its idle only. You don't need a high powered high tech bass boat to have fun and fish some tournements. Go have fun and good luck, trust me it felt good.
