Date Fished: 7/12/2007 Finally made it back to Cecil, after a few weeks of taking guys from work fishing on various pits down south. Got on the water around 08:45, lake was clear at the ramp, but muddy green in most areas from boat wake wash. It was a super tough day, lots of casts, and nothing on plastics. The only thing I could get them to hit on was a small SPRO rattle bait in shad color, fish across laydowns. Fresh laydowns produced 3 nice bass, very fat fish in the 15 to 16 inch size. Two more bigger fish came off an old laydown, a huge tree with a Y in it submerged just off the bank. Again, had to throw across the wood with the trap. Both these fish went 18", and were full of shad. There is so much shad in the lake, I don't think these fish are ever hungry. You got to make em bite with a reaction lure. Each laydown I caught fish off of, I thoroughly fished with soft plastics and never had a bite. I know there were more fish on them, they just won't bite without that trap coming over their head makin them mad. Guys from work reading this, I am open for Friday and Saturday. Booked on Sunday.
