Water Clarity: 1 foot What a mistake fishing this lake. I took the family camping at Boyd Lake State Park this weekend and went fishing early on Saturday morning. Besides fishing like a giant bowl, the lake's entire shoreline is silted muck with stick-up weeds. I did my best to find isolated rockpiles and when I did, I dragged a french fry around them for 3 hours without a single bite. No shortage of carp, as they were jumping everywhere. I definitely won't go back to this mudhole.
Going to Walsenberg next weekend to try and stir up some deep smallmouth.
