Subject: Beaver Lake night trip, Arkansas

Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Went fishing late yesterday afternoon from 7:00PM to 12:00AM. The fish were VERY selective on what they would bite on. Between me, my partner, and his son, no one caught a fish the entire trip. We covered 4 different areas and out of those 4 areas, fish were only active in one area. The water clarity is really clear (about 10ft) and the barometric pressure was right at 30.00 and steady. Even the gar & carp weren't feeding on top last night. The one cove I know where fish are active at night and we did not see much activity on the sonar graph. The moon was full, bright, and the water was calm after dark. If the baro. pressure would have been up, it would have been a perfect night for night fishing.
We tried jigs, D22 crank, shaky head jigs with finesse worms, topwater baits, 10" worms, slow rolled spinnerbait, My partner felt several bites on a small jig but never could hook up. The bass would bite it and drop it really fast. I think the fish are really deep, (40-50ft +) and very lethargic right now. Maybe with the pressure rises, the bite will be better and they will move onto shallow shelves to feed.
