Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater I fished the north shoreline of Ephraim between Little Sister Bay and Ephraim. We (my two sons and I) caught about 20 for the three days we fished (Wed, Thu, and Fri) last week. They were a mix of smallies and sheepshead drums. Man those drum can pull. I caught three nice keeper sized smallies fishing a husky jerk at the edge of the rock break line where it drops from 5 feet to 12 feet. Those were the only fish caught casting. The rest we caught trolling small shad colored crankbaits (thin Ns, Dive to 4s, and a #5 Jointed shad rap). The drums ranged in size from about 6 lbs to 8 lbs. My eldest son thought he had snagged his lure on a rock or a monster weed one day. After I turned the boat around and got on the other side of the supposed rock, I took his rod to see if I could pull it off the "rock" and gave it a jerk. That's when I saw the flash of the fish and felt the tug-tug of the drum. I handed it back to him and told him it was a fish. That brought back memories of when I was his age and my dad doing the same thing.
Weather was assume. Highs in the low 80's and overnight lows in the 60's.
