Rattletraps rule!! Saturday a.m. I caught 1 keeper "0 dark 30" on a white skirt white tandem 3/16oz spinner bait. Several dinks on a rattletrap and then we went in about 10:30. Not real good, HOWEVER, went back out in the late afternoon and caught school fish for a solid hour and a half on 1/4oz rattletraps. I was throwing a whiteish pearly with blue hue(one of a kind) and was beating the wife pretty bad and all of a sudden they went to the chrome blue that she was throwing and she turned the tables. We had fun. Fish were nice size with numerous fish in the 2 1/2lb range along with the occasional dink. This location was where a submerged point died into an existing shoreline(creating a bend) with hydrilla and deep water very near. Other locations were where submerged points with hydrilla were situated beside drainages with deep water very near. Pods of bait were visible everywhere you looked. Numerous areas as described above are available from Patroon down to 6mile. It helps to have been walking these area's last year when the lake was so low but even now moss points show the outline reasonably well. For myself the school fish are better targeted in mid-after noon through early evening and while the bugs can be obnoxious it helps to have minimal wind although some wind does improve the bite and lessens the number of bugs. Hope this helps someone to catch a few!.
