Water Clarity: 2-3 feet Fished lower end of Wheeler today from first light to about 12:30. Started off with topwater...nothing. Switched to spinnerbait...nothing. Threw a crankbait...nothing. Tried a jig...nothing. So I went to the ol' reliable...finnesse worm on a spinning reel with 6lb line, slider hook, and cut the worm off about two inches. Needless to say, I got alot of bites that you could tell was small fish. Landed 7 fish with all but one being smallmouth. Had two smallmouth that were 2 1/2 to 3 lbs (great fight on 6 lb line). All fish were caught in laydowns on dropoffs of 15-20 ft. Best five maybe 10 lbs. Should have gone to the flats.
