Date Fished: 10/2/2007 I got to the park around 4:30pm to fish the 6:48 pm low tide. My first stop was the grass area next to the ramp (this is becoming a regular routine). The water was still coming in pretty strong. Guess which lure I used? :) 15 minutes of tossing Senkos and nada. I decided to go exploring today towards 123 bridge. I was surprised how shallow the water was near the gigantic houses. I got skunked in that grass area, but I did get a solid hit. I got another bite behind the small island. I redid the drift and nada. I have a question...do bass hit the same lure again? I finally hooked one under the new condos. It was a GIGANTIC dink (< 1 lb). I talked to 2 teens who got a late start in their jon boat. Nothing for them either. I finally came back to the ramp around 6:20pm and found a glasslike water. I noticed a lot of bait jumping. I tossed Senkos (dark blue/green) in the grass and was immediately rewarded with another dink (< 1 lb). I did see a bankie land a 2 pounder and he kept it. Is it okay to eat fish out of Occoquan? It was getting dark fast so I called it a night...almost. After loading the kayak, I made a few more casts where the bankie caught his. That's all she wrote folks...2 small dinks...but still a great day on the river! Tight Lines, Alan
