Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Fished my first Logan Open tournament this weekend. The Logan Bass Club put on a first class tournament.
My partner and I had a great two days of practice, catching numerous LM and SM on Pop-R's up against main lake bluff points. But the first day of the tournament was extremely windy which made it hard to fish the main lake. We were able to get one SM on a spinnerbait. In practice when the wind blew, we were able to catch a few on a Rattle Trap, but they didn't want it in the tournament. On day two, we caught two SM early in the morning on Pop-R's. The first being a stout 3 pounder. When the wind died, the fish went deep and got lock-jaw. We picked up our third, and last fish, on a Giggy Head in 25 feet of water. I'm not sure who won or what the weight was, but our two day total of four fish, weighted 7.57 and that left us in 32nd place. I heard the day one leaders were a little over 12 pounds.
I love this lake and can't wait to go back. Thanks to Logan Bass Club for the great tournament.
