Water Clarity: 1 foot Fishers of Men South East Region had their Regional this past Friday and Saturday. Friday we were greeted with winds 15 to 25+. That made for an exciting blast off out of Big Oaks down by the dam. The wind was blowing straight into us, but we had a great start. If you have never fished it, FOMNTT is a well-run organization; my thanks go out to Al Odom and the others that put in some loooong hours to make a great Regional.
Congratulations to Travis Kennedy and Dannie Reed! They led day one with 14.34 and held on with 15.56 day two for a total of 29.90 lbs. Second place was Robert Chapman and Scott Hoopaugh. They were in second place after day one with 14.21 and brought a 15.20 sack on day two with a monster 7.81 large mouth, but they were just shy with a two-day total of 29.41 lbs. Third place went to Dennis Smith and Gene Black with 25.84. See all info on www.fomntt.com .
Fish were caught on spinner baits, crank baits, shaky heads, carolina rigs, trick worms, flukes, and just about any other bait thrown. The top five teams fished different areas of the lake. Fish were caught in the creeks and on the main lake points.
