Water Clarity: 2-3 feet We are catching some bass around grasses on a Super Fluke or Wacko’s fished unweighted. A white or
white/chartreuse spinnerbait also draws strikes from healthy bass around grass, wood, wrecks and rocks. Our best
bait for bass continues to be small shallow running or deep running crank baits in brown crawfish colors or a variety
of chartreuse or green colors. Ledges along the main, river with rocks or wrecks, have been our most productive
areas for bass up to four pounds. We follow up in the same areas with a Mann’s Sting Ray grub in avocado color
rigged on a 1/4 ounce ball jig with hook exposed and coated with liberal amounts of Smelly Jelly fish attractant.
If it’s crappie or panfish you’re after it’s hard to beat a drop shot rig fished around marina’s or wooded ledges.
We do quite well with a Berkley 3” power minnow, a color called emerald shiner/scales.
