Water Clarity: 0 Friday 12/14/07, Got out early this morning, 8AM, air temperture was 32 degrees! There is a winter storm coming in tommorrow, so I decided to get out and try my luck this morning. Rigged the 3/8 oz green pupmpkin football jig again, this time with a green pumpkin baby brush hog and #11 Uncle Josh Black pork frog, used black to try to contrast the green jig. Also took a second rod rigged with a glass ghost X-Rap. Started out the same direction as two days ago. Worked the faster flowing drainage pipe, first with the X-Rap, no takers, tried the jig, also no takers. Worked around the lake, nothing! Worked the slower moving drainage pipe, first with the jig, on the fourth cast, a little deeper than normal, when a big fish hit the jig, the rod all the sudden just got heavy, at first thought it was a snag, but no, it strated heading for deep water. Short lived fight, pulled the fish into the bank. It was a solid 3 1/2 pounds, 18 inches long! Beautiful dark colored Bass! Worked the area longer, got hung up and lost the jig! Retied a new one on and ended up losing it also! I am now out of these football jigs! Tried the X-rap, nothing! Till next time! God bless the fisherman! Malachi
