This was to be the day of days. What a day this could have been. I am both happy and sad. haha.

I don't think a better day could have been planned. I asked my friend Brian to come with me and he decided to sleep in and hang around the house in Jacksonville. Bad decision and he regrets it now. Anyway, I went by my lonesome and arrived at 7am. Headed straight to the back end of Farm 13 and fished with you a Super Spot from Cotton Cordell. Anyway, the wind was perfect. Hardly a breeze and it was warm. A front coming in it was nirvana for us fisherman. I was thinking boy Brian sure missed a great day. haha.

Started working a ditch and didn't catch anything on the ditch but when I got close to where the ditch ended I started banging fish. In fact I had 4 on 4 casts. Number 5 never got connected then I had 6 on my 6th cast. I would have had 6 bass on 6 casts if number 5 had bite better. I have not had this many in a long time consecutively. They were all 2-3lbers. I caught another on a speed worm once the action slowed. It was a 4lber. I basically just roamed around in that area of 3-4 feet and had fish after fish hit. Now the bad news was I lost a sick number of fish today. I can't remember when my hook up to catch ratio was so bad. I mean it was close to 50%. Apparently everyone I spoke to said they lost allot of fish also.

I had a good fish break my line and take one of my baits. I wasn't too happy. I later in the day lost a good 6lber right at boat side. That was more my fault as the fish had it's tail right under itself as it's head was pointing straight up and my rod tip was directly over her head and she gave me one more jump and tossed my bait. I was soo mad haha. That fish hit a Chatter Shad. I would just sharpen the hook on it first though if you use one. They use a big hook and sometimes big hooks are not that sharp. Sort of like a hook on a Johnson spoon.

That Chatter Shad caught me about 6 bass. It had me several big fish that came off. However, the biggest bass of the day that I actually landed was just 4.8lbs. I however, lost several BIG fish on a 3/4 ounce Cotton Cordell that never came up and got lose.

I had 2 over 4lbs and 4 or 5 over 3lbs. Total landed today was 26. Total I had on the end of my line today at least 45 and that might be shorting myself. I fished till 4pm. Some of the people I spoke with had similar results some less. Everyone said they lost allot of fish that day. I could have counted allot of the fish I lost right at the boat but I just don't feel good about doing that. Anyway, I heard several fish caught Saturday where in the 8-9lb range around the lake. I shutter to think what my day could have been like if I landed every Bass I hooked. WOW.

I ended up the day in the back lot as the wind started to come on. I was the only one in the back lot. Caught 4 in there.
