Well got out with my buddy today for a great day of Striper fishing..We started the morning underdressed ready for a nice day prior to the storms moving in. Made the run from Tidwell across the Bering Sea and began first stages of hypothermia....But we were fishing. Ran to Ducketts mill and found the birds, big black floppy ones instead of white sleek noisy ones. Must have been 200 Buzzards circling over the water for some reason. Nevertheless, we were fishing. The only thing worse than staying put and not catching fish was hearing the roar of the Mercury crank up which indicates that you were about to hover on the fringe of Stage two Hypothermia. We ran into Balus and Flat Creek and got to see alot of people doing the same thing we were, frezzing and not catching fish....but we were fishing. On the way back to the ramp we got a little lost, and ran into 5 birds diving on a school of 6 baitfish, and a swirl. we attack !! !! Heaving flukes and bucktails into the small toilet flush of a swirl..Nothing. After making our way back across the Bering sea, we made it to the truck in stage 3 Hypothermia...two fat men started stripping off our clothes and running around because we had a feeling of euphoria. We boated and turned up the heater full BLAST..made our way to the steak and Shake for some Chili, coffee, and steak burgers. We had finally warmed up....The only problem....Us being fat men required Steak and Shake Milk shakes......Back to stage 1 hypothermia....after full bellies and a Milkshake, we struggled to maneauver the Ford down the Highway to the house, where we promptly hit the couch and went to sleep...dreaming of those magnificent Lake Lanier Stripers....and we were fishing.
