Date Fished: 3/22/2008
Water Temperature: 45
Water Clarity: 1 foot

Fished a Friday afternoon work tournament. First one of the year, and water was high and stained. Using a Booyah gold shad 1/2oz spinnerbait, on about the 3rd cast hooked up a 5 lb bass by slow rolling the bait in 10ft of water over wood structure.

Caught 4 more all on the same bait, but it was tough fishing, they are a week or two of normal weather away. Anyway, won the competition and it is just practice for next weeks Illinois series on Rend Lake and Lake of Egypt.

I am real worried about my co-angler, as he only caught 1 bass and he had to use the same bait I was using to get bit.

If anyone has been fishing Rend or Lake of Egypt yet this year let me know what its like. I expect Rend to be chocolate milk color and as high as she gets. If weather is bad, might have to fish the marinas.
