Date Fished: 3/24/2008
Water Temperature: 53
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Actually fished the 24th - 27th.

Arived Monday afternoon and got a few hours on the water. Tuesday winds were up in the high 20s. Winds were supposed to calm down Wed and Thur but of course that never works out. We were restricted for the most part to protected areas out of the wind. White caps did not allow us to get out on the ledges or points for the most part.

Only one fish was caught in 2' or less. Most fish were caught on the outside of flooded brush and rip rap in 4' to 8' of water.

1/4oz jig watermelon and crank baits both chrome/black and fire tiger were the ticket. Some fish were caught on jerk baits but not many.

Probably caught close to 70 fish in those four days. Largest LM was just over 5lbs. Largets smallie was just over 3lbs. Most fish were in the 2.5 to 5lbs range.

We had a blast. Water levels were a foot or so above summer pool. Water was stained and temps ranged from 52 to 58 degrees on Thu. Wed and Thu it got up to or into the 70s. Thu was the best day. A storm moved in and we pounded them for a couple hours before the big wind and rains hit. Got some hail as well.

Caught a hugh crappie on a jerk bait and also got a sheep head on a jig.

FishTail Lodge was a very nice place to stay. Plenty of room in the hotel and nice people to boot. The hotel was about 1 mile up the street from the Paris Landing Marina.

We fished mainly around Paris Landing and a bit North and South of there. Wanted to hit the Blood River and Barkley but the high winds just didn't allow for alot of travel unless you wanted to beat yourself and boat to death. Could have trailer'd up there but the fishing was good enough around Paris Landing to just stay there and hide from the nasty stuff.

All in all a great trip with lots of feesh.
