Subject: Winter Results For St Johns River, Florida

Submitted by Bass Challenger Guide Service

Date Fished: 4/6/2008
Water Clarity: Not reported

The fishing the past few days has been good except for one day last week when the shad were so thick it was hard to get a fish to eat any kind of artificial bait. This will happen from time to time when a shad hatch is going on. We are still catching schooling fish up to 7 pound on a regular basis. High Roller 3.25's White Flukes and a Hard Jerkbait have been the best baits for my clients.I haven't had a shiner trip in a couple days but this week I have three days of shiner fishing booked so I will have a shiner report posted by mid week. Our average day on a fish count has been 25 to 35 fish. Last week Capt Doug Gilley helped me for three days with trips on the river and did very well catching schooling fish on small shiners free lined on 8 # test. This schooling action will only get better over the next few months so if you are looking for a great day of fishing the St Johns River is the place to go. I have the big fish totals for the past four months ready Could Not Get Pictures To Post

12LBS ONE 11LBS THREE 10 LBS NINE 9LBS FOURTY SEVEN 8LBS NINTY TWO

I am working on a new big fish page and hope to have it on my website soon but until it is finished you can view a lot of these big fish on my fishing report page at www.basschallenger.com.

This area of the St Johns River is only minutes from Orlando,Disney World and Daytona Beach.
