Date Fished: 4/21/2008 Water Temperature: 65 You have to be careful out there on Guntersville, some fish are bigger than your kids. This youngster (Brody) displayed nothing but courage while wrestling in “Drumzilla” on a closed-face rod and reel. He had a two-fisted white knuckle grip on the rod, which was pointed straight at the giant fish with the drag screaming as Drumzilla was wide open for deeper water. “I’m gonna need some help here”!! the youngster exclaimed. I’ve never had so much fun watching a big drum being caught in my life. An 8 year old just don’t care what kind of fish it is, landing a fish that big is unforgettable. It was a beautiful day on the water, plenty of sunshine and light winds. Even the bass cooperated a little, with some early action on top-water baits and a few on crank baits later in the morning. Young Brody left both his daddy and his pawpaw in the rooster tail. He was proud to have out fished the adults on this trip, and the adults (including the guide) were equally as proud. It was a really fun day on the water, and proof that there is never a good excuse not to take a kid fishing. It’s especially easy when the kid is wearing the right hat! The pics say it all. I still have a few days open in the 1st 2 weeks of May. Velcro for the bottoms of shoes and saftey harneses included for kids. :) Good luck, great fishing and all Gods grace.
