Hit the big Cecil M. Harden Reservoir this afternoon, in preparation for upcoming tournaments.

Went to my first good spot, and picked up only 2 bass, the biggest about 3lb and 18", the other one was on 10". Did start getting nice white bass to hit, on a Team Diawa lipless crankbait. I was getting a lot of hits, but they kept missing the hooks, so I downsized to an SPRO Aruku Shad Jr.

This was the ticket to getting hooked up, ended up with over 20 white bass at this one location. It was a lot of fun, but not what I need for a tournament.

Went to my next go to spot, and again only got one largemouth and it was only 8". This time I was on a Yozuri Vibe in gold/black color, and again ran into a school of white bass. They were harder to catch than the previous spot. I had to keep changing colors and makes on the lipless cranks to keep getting bites. I could catch 3-4 on one bait, then they would get wise and stop hitting it.

I just kept doing that the rest of the day, I didn't try to keep count. Probably over 40 white bass on the day, and only 3 largemouth.

I just used lipless cranks as search baits to locate the largemouth, which didn't turn out too good. Might have been better if I had thoroughly fished the areas with multiple bait types.
