Done wore my arm out jerkin' today. The jerkbait bite is on something fierce right now.

After a week of warm weather the water temp in in the mid to high fifties with some shallow coves in the sixties and they are slammin' the jerkbaits.

Windswept rocky flats in five or so feet of water were the key today. Sharp jerks with a fairly long pause kept the line tight for most of the day. For a long period my smallest fish was 2.5 pounds but I got into some little ones at the end of the day to bring my average down. My biggest five totaled 19+ pounds, including a four and one a hair over six pounds. Not bad for my third trip of the year.

I caught a few swimming small worms around docks and shoreline cover and I got the four pounder on a suspending crank, but most of the fish (and the biggest) came on jerkbaits.

See you on the water,

Ross
