Wrapping up break-in on a new motor. Spent most of it running the main river channel north of Pohick Bay RP. Good thing I wasn't planning on running full bore. The river is still a mess - tons of floaters everywhere. Some of them are not small.

Did fish for about an hour or so in Swan Creek. Was pleased to see the grass coming in thick and lush. Managed to hook up on an RC 1.5, a Bandit 100 (shad), and senko (green w/ red). Solid, aggressive bites. All bites occurred on the outisde edge of the grass, along the outer channel edge.

Got broke off once in the back of Swan. Did see the fish near the surface before the line gave way. It wasn't a bass. Can only guess it was one of those neolithic, toothy snakehead critters. Was long, dark.

Water was still heavily stained, even in the back of the creek. Will be that way until the grass comes all the way in.

For those of you running the main channel - the debris tends to build up in turns and along bluff walls. Be extra careful as you approach these areas.
