Ok, I am new to the area (lived here less than 5yrs). Have fished Tuckertown, Badin and Tillery with great success in numbers of bass each trip out. I finally went to High Rock, 3 times now. I have only caught 5 fish in the 18 hours "+" spent on that lake. Two of those fish together weighed around 7lbs and the rest wouldn't come close to messuring 14 inches, slash that 12 inches. :-)

I am no pro, don't even fish club tourney's, but I have enough experiance on the water that most of the time I can get on "what we call a short fish pattern" on just about any lake and catch some numbers. On High Rock I have gone 4-5 hours straight without even a bite from any species of fish. I have thrown a blade, trap, CB, worm, senko...... I have fished laydowns, docks, points, riprap, shallow and deep????? Where are the fish in numbers in this lake??? I can go to Badin and catch 5 - 6 fish in 3-4 hours usually with at least one being over 2lbs, if not more. I can go to Mtn. Island on the Catawba river chain and do the same, most of the time.

Has there been a die off of Bass on this lake in the past???

I would love to learn this lake. It is a good lake for me to meet my brother-n-law for a Sat. fish. If anyone wants to split some gas money and show me a day of catching bass on this lake, I am in.
