Fished sunup to sundown yesterday around Big Creek, Shoal Creek and by the dam. Here's what I found: You can catch a ton of little guys on rocky points and humps from the main lake to 1/2 way back in the creeks. Nothing much around docks, and nothing much around sunken trees or otherwise deep, but if I had another high-pressure day, I think I'd look a little closer to cover. No surface activity other than gar and carp. I marked a few fish sitting on deep breaks, but I'm not sure they were bass.

Nobody wanted to chase anything that was moving, although I did get a few on crank baits (worked slow in the darker water), spinnerbaits, small swim baits, and miscellaneous junk---but they were all small and the activity was inconsistent. I wouldn't doubt that the ones I caught on moving baits would hit just about anything.

Finess worms were the only thing that worked consistently. Most of the fish were less than 5ft on rocks, and less movement produced more fish. When you feel rock, STOP, and count to 10. Then give a little twich or hop if you aren't bit. When they're shallow they tend to run to deep water with your lure, so watch the line to keep them from getting that 2nd gulp and ending up with a gut hook. I caught several fish by setting the hook when the line went limp---never felt the bite.

Best 5 would have gone only 9.5 or 10lbs but I had fun. Best fish was 3-10. If anyone is consistently on the big ones, I'd like to hear about it. -Adam
