Date Fished: 6/1/2008
Water Temperature: 65
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Had a partner waiting for me at South Bay and had the boat on the water shortly after 7:30. Skies were sunny to start and end the day, with cloudy skies the remainder. Winds were light in certain sections and breezy to howling in others. First stop was to see if any spawners were pulling out of a setback. My partner took first fish on a spinnerbait. Followed by a long spell of nothing, hitting several spots on our way north. Finally made it to a bank I took several nice fish on a trick-worm last trip, but the wind made it difficult to fish. I finally scored green when the wind let up for a moment, by setting the hook on several trick-worm fish. We then worked an area that was semi-protected taking a few fish on several different baits including a topwater fish my partner took. He also missed several blow-ups on a scum-frog. Running further north we found a bank that nobody was on and started casting with no luck till we both changed baits. His to a different color and mine to a different blade configuration. This brought more frequent biters for both of us and I lost a 4lb fish at the boat. We eventually wore our welcome out on this bank as I eyed the bank opposite us. I had never fish this bank and only frequently seen guys fish it. When we got over there the wind was at it's howling stage. Several casts later big LMB of the day hit my spinnerbait. Not to be outdone, my partner scored on the big and only SMB of the day at 2.5lbs. This was followed by a half-hour of non-stop action for us including our second double of the day. Once the flurry was over we both took a fish here and there with my partner taking the last half dozen fish of the day. Had good numbers on the day considering our slow start and the windy conditions, just didn't have that many fish over 2.25lbs.
