  Subject: Lake Norman, North Carolina

Submitted by lknbassman (ip 71.28.109.60)

Date Fished: 6/10/2008
Water Temperature: 84
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

Water clarity is well over 7 feet on the main lake. It's almost too clear to do much good with high blue bird skies and little wind unless you slow way down and downsize baits and throw the steady eddy green pumpkin soft plastic of your choosing...

Not my deal today. Got the TR21X gassed up and wanted to go fast for a while so I ran a ways and fished some great main lake docks which got me bit on the buzz bait 1/4 oz white/white (1/2 is generally too big for this lake and with the water as clear as it is, I have no confidence in anything that big right now). The old Pop-R did not produce for me today (I'm too impatient sometimes for that little guy) so I put the TM on high, stuck with the buzzer, and ran down the dock line getting some takers, nothing of any real size with the best going 1.5 or so. The water was so clear I could see them coming from 10 feet away to hammer that buzz bait, that gentlemen is really fun to do.

Sun came up so I went off shore and fished deeper for a while to see if they were stacking up on humps and rock piles. Caught some small schoolers on a main lake point and then decided it was too hot for me by 9:30 so I loaded up and headed for the A/C. It's 100 again today and the wind is dead calm. Not that much fun other than no boat traffic.

I'd think anything you can get up under a dock that sinks slow will do OK so think Flukes, Shakey Heads, Senkos, jigs, etc that you can skip back up in there a LONG way. I just went fun fishing for a few hours and wanted to get the top water bite going so I did not throw soft plastics but if it were a tourney, that's all I'd do once the sun was high in the sky and the wind dead calm.

Good luck with your tourney TBF guys, the weather should get better for you soon with this front coming in. Pray for rain and cloud cover and you guys should do just fine. Good luck!
