Water Clarity: Not reported

I have been fishing three different lakes. All the lakes are fishing about the same right now with good numbers of quality fish being caught. We have had one real slow day with just five or six fish caught but most days have been anywhere between twenty to fifty fish in an eight to nine hour trip. Senkos and lightly weighted soft plastics have been the best producers with Carolina rigs also catching some fish at Stone Mountain. Best depths have been anywhere from eight to fifteen feet. There are also small fish schooling over deep water on all three lakes. Most of these fish are less than 14 inches and they are feeding on small fry less than an inch long. Small topwaters have been our best producer for the schoolers. On Varner I did get into a group of big hybrids one afternoon. They were feeding on large gizzard shad and I had eight big hybrids between six and ten pounds on big hard jointed swimbaits fished about five feet down.

The photo is one of those big hybrids and a few bass from the weekend. The bass were caught fishing deep structure with splitshot rigs on eight pound line right in the middle of the day. I will post some more photos following this post.

I am booked up all of June but have open days starting in Mid July. In addition to Varner both lake Kedron and JW Smith should be great choices to fish at that time as the best fishing on both of these lakes is usually July and August. Both lakes have a great topwater/toad/frog bite that often lasts all day during the summer. JW Smith is the best choice for big fish while Kedron is a great numbers lake which makes it a good chioce for beginners and kids. Also, the hydrilla should be up at Varner by that time keeping the summer bite going strong.-Randall
