  Subject: Lake Lavon, Texas

Submitted by GUIDE - Jeff Kirkwood (ip 69.41.95.221)

Date Fished: 6/16/2008
Water Clarity: 0

Lake Lavon Water Temperature: 79 - 81 Water Clarity: Clear to slightly stained

I had a ½ day sand bass trip out this weekend and was pleased with the outcome. We found plenty of topwater activity, but couldn’t find any keepers on the surface. However my customers didn’t want to leave the little fish until I explained to them that they wanted fish to take home. Then they wanted to catch bigger fish. While it took me a few minutes to locate some sandies on the bottom we tied on our jiggin’ spoons. Once I located them on the first drop they started catching fish. All in all, with me having an 8 and a 10 year old in the boat and a greenhorn I figure 75 to 80 sandies wasn’t too bad. We ended up cutting the trip short by about 25 minutes due to a storm that moved in on us, but still had a great time!

The sand bass bite should be good for a while and bass fishing on Lavon isn’t too bad either, so if you’d like to book a trip to Lavon give me a holler.

If I can be of more help or assistance regarding a trip or “Bassin’ Class” please contact me at 972-853-0949 / 800-965-0350 or by e-mail at jeff@jeffkirkwood.com. My web site, www.fishinwithjeff.com. It’s that time of year to start looking at your calendar for guide trips for summer. The earlier you book your date the easier it will be to get the date(s) you want. So, should you want to become one of my many valued customers and a great group of guys give me a call. One thing you might want to consider on booking your trip I guide on both Lake Fork, Lake Lavon & Lake Ray Hubbard, so the choice is yours as to which lake you want to fish. UNTIL NEXT TIME…GOOD LUCK & TIGHT-LINES!!!
