Date Fished: 6/17/2008
Water Temperature: 82
Water Clarity: 0

Fished Monday and today on the south end, both full days.

Monday: The topwater bite had significantly died off as compared to recent patterns, but I did manage to catch a few on chuggers. Otherwise, junk fishing produced a few very shallow fish, a few on drop-shot after seeing them on the graph, and a few others caught on finess worms pulled slowly over rock. All in all, about 15 or so total, best fish was just under 4 lbs, best five probably 12-13lbs.

Today: Topwater or any chasing activity on the main lake completely died with the cooler weather. I don't doubt that some people probably caught them out there today, but I couldn't muster a single bite. Suspicious of a blue-back spawn from yesterday's shallow bites, I went back into the creeks and immediately started hooking up. I caught fish on XPS drop-shot, sand colored and dark green Zoom worms on a shaky-head, and fluke on a jig head----they absolutely refused anything else. I saw spots and largemouth chasing the shad or bluebacks or whatever they were in *very* shallow water. My reccomendation to anyone fishing in the next couple of days is to try the FRONT of the dock. I caught several over 3lbs today in less than 24 inches of water---the others were good sized keepers, with only a few dinks. With the exception of largemouth, almost all fish were out away from the docks---NOT in the shade. Total numbers were above 20, the best overall was 4.3 lbs, best 5 was around 15-16 lbs. Good luck, Adam B.
